Green Beans with Mushrooms

These green beans are SO simple that I don’t know that I can can actually call this a recipe! hah! 3 ingredients… that’s it! (Well, not including Salt & Pepper, b/c let’s face it – those are staples!) Simple or not – these green beans were AWESOME! The hubs LOVED them (and he’s not a big Veggie person). Let’s just say, a pound of green beans vanished real fast.

Green Beans with Mushrooms

1 lb Fresh Green Beans
1 Pint Mushrooms (Sliced)
1 TBS Bacon Drippings (embracing my inner southern girl)
Salt & Pepper to taste

Heat the bacon drippings over medium-high heat in a skillet. I used my good ol' cast iron for the job! Rinse the green beans and then snap/trim the ends off of them. Add sliced mushrooms and green beans to skillet with the bacon drippings. Season well with salt & Pepper.

Saute over Medium-Medium High heat for about 15 minutes (stirring frequently). Cover with a lid, reduce heat to Medium-Low and allow to simmer for another 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Voila! The most deliciously simple green beans I have made to date!

Love the green beans, dislike the mushrooms. Darnit! Looks delish though, even at breakfast time! I'm weird, I know.
