This is what happens when you cross a Chocolate Chip Cookie with a Pecan Pie = Deliciousness!
I first had this pie a few years ago when we were visiting friends in Alabama for Thanksgiving. Rachel brought this pie over for dessert. Now, let’s get one thing straight, I am just NOT a “pie person” – never have been. However, due to the fact that this particular pie had chocolate chips and pecans (not the typical fruit/cinnamon pie filling which I don’t like) I decided to give it a try. Umm… suddenly I became I “pie person” haha It was delicious! And every Thanksgiving since I have thought about that pie. This year I emailed the lovely Rachel and got the recipe so I could actually make it!

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 stick butter (melted)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup chocolate chips
1 Uncooked Pie shell
Preheat Oven to 350°. Grease a pie plate and the press the pie crust into it crimping the edges with your fingers.
In a stand mixer (or in a bowl using a hand mixer), mix the flour and sugar. Add eggs and then melted butter. Next, add vanilla extract and mix well. Last, gently fold in nuts and chocolate chips until combined well.
Spread evenly into the prepared pie plate/crust. Bake for 35-40 minutes until slightly golden. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
Serve as is or with whipped cream.
