Omni Hotel: Downtown Austin (Review)

Remember how I told you guys about my trip to Austin? Well now it’s time to tell you about the sweet hotel I stayed at with Jess & Lauren: Omni Hotel (Downtown Austin).

The hotel had the most STUNNING atrium lobby. It was super bright and open and it almost felt as if you were standing outside (although the nice cold air conditioner was a dead giveaway that we were indeed indoors)!

We couldn’t stop snapping photos of it- Jess busted me with my camera to my face ;)

We all had our own rooms, each with a massive and comfortable King size bed, private balcony overlooking the city, and a plush bathroom with all of the amenities you could need…

Hello big comfy bed! ALL. FOR. ME.

Okay, and can I just tell you about my OBSESSION with this massive shower?! I’m pretty sure that when I talked to hubs each night, I RAVED about the shower! Seriously. After walking around in the summer heat of Austin, a shower never felt so glorious! It was legit the highlight of my day.

Excellent Water Pressure + Great HOT water (this is KEY for me!) + tons of space = Shower perfection.

I wanted to bring it home with me…

There were plenty of towels and the vanity had enough space for all my toiletries, makeup, etc… It was stocked with the hotel basics (shampoo, conditioner, lotion) and a little box filled with cotton balls and q-tips! The maids tidied it up impeccably and restocked everything each day!

Oh, another great thing about staying at the Omni Hotel… if you sign up for their “Select Guest Program” you immediately get to take advantage of these fantastic perks!

My favorite perks were the free wifi, complimentary bottles of water upon arrival, and the complimentary beverages each morning (they let you pick 2 per person!!!):
roomservice

On our last night, we decided to take advantage of the late-night room service… we each ordered different salads, all of which were delicious. They delivered the food quickly and got our order completely correct!salads

We also finally made our way up to check out the gorgeous rooftop pool! They have a bar open up there during the daytime which I imagine makes for a great time!

And check out the stunning view… who wouldn’t enjoy THAT?!

I absolutely loved my stay at the Omni and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel in the Austin area. It was incredibly clean, had great amenities, and was in an excellent location! Don’t believe me? Check it out for yourselves!

Beautiful!! I stayed at the Hilton, which was nice, but I would have killed for that bathroom! I go to Austin semi-often, so will definitely have to check the Omni out. The lobby is awesome!!

Love that hotel! I stayed there last summer for a friend’s bachelorette party. Our favorite part was the rooftop pool for sure!

Oh how I miss “home.” I moved up north 14 years ago and try to get back to Austin at least once a year to see family. Our trips home are always planned so that we can load up on Mexican food and bbq. My little PA town has neither.

Recently, we were on a RC cruise and had a Roasted Poblano and Corn Chowder. I googled it and found you! I don’t typically make cream based soups…but this one was fabulous!! It narrowly won out over the Roasted Jalapeno Soup we had on a RC cruise five years ago!

I don’t typically follow recipes. I’m a “if it sounds good, throw it in the pot” kind of cook. I make at least 9.5 quarts every week cause that’s how my biggest Le Creuset dutch oven will hold!

Congrats on your baby news! We skipped all that 12 years ago and adopted our daughter from China. She was 6 months then and now will enter 6th grade in the Fall. Life goes by in a blur once you have a kid!
