Project Food Blog: Challenge # 1

Question: What defines you as a food blogger and why should you be the next food blog star?
Wow.  Talk about kicking it off with a real Stumper! haha I’m not one to want to praise myself, so this is a toughy for me! I’m going to keep this as short & sweet as possible…
A little bit About Me & My Blog:
(Keeping it Real!)
My name is Kristina and my blog is about My Life as a Mrs (obviously! hah).  Something I quickly discovered after becoming a married woman, was that I LOVE to cook… especially for the hubs. Seeing his appreciation for the meals I prepare for him, makes me want to cook all the more! My blog quickly turned into a place where I post my recipes, share my meal plans, and showcase  the soirees we throw for our friends.  The hubs and I absolute LOVE to entertain our friends.  There is nothing like gathering together around the table with great friends to eat a delicious home cooked meal.

I am not a trained chef of any sorts, I just picked up some things along the way from the fabulous people I grew up around.  I was blessed to be surrounded by numerous incredible cooks in my family!

I work an 8:30 am to 5:00 pm job and have figured out ways to still have a delicious home-cooked meal on the table most nights of the week. I would love to share my tips and tricks with you. All it takes is a little planning ahead! Homecooked meals don’t have to have 50 ingredients and come from a gourmet cookbook in order to be delicious and satisfying!

My goal is to serve restaurant-quality food that can be thrown together in a quick amount of time (considering my busy schedule)! It doesn’t have to be complicated to be something you could see yourself ordering out at a restaurant! Cooking doesn’t have to be complicated! Anyone can do it… you can do it!

I try to be allow cooking to be my creative outlet.  I rarely follow a recipe to the “T” and encourage others not to feel limited by exact measurments. It’s okay to throw in an extra dash (or two) of the flavors you particularly enjoy! Don’t be afraid to get Creative!

You’ll find lots of pictures on my blog because, to me, pictures speak louder than words!  I’m not likely to try out a recipe without having seen a picture of it first and I will only buy a cookbook if there are pictures for most of the recipes.  I guess I am just a visual person. I love photography, so I try to incorporate delectable pictures into all of my recipe posts.

And that, my blogging friends, is ‘My Life as a Mrs’ in a nutshell! 🙂
Why Should I be the next Food Blogger Star?
It would be a dream for me.  For the longest time, I thought that something like this was out of reach, but now looking back, I think the only thing inhibiting my dreams from coming to fruition is myself. So that’s it. I’m staking my claim! This is my desire, My Dream is to blog about cooking and be able to earn some type of income by doing so. I have the strong desire to have children and this would be a way to make that dream come true (all while doing something I love)! I want everyone to know that ANYONE is capable of anything they put their mind too.  You don’t have to be a trained chef to be an excellent food blogger!Even though my itty bitty little blog is one that most people haven’t even heard of… I’m giving this competition a shot because I believe in myself!  Who knows?  Maybe I could be the next Food Blogger Star?! It’s up to YOU!

Register on Foodbuzz and throw me a couple of votes next week when the voting opens!
I’ll love you forever 🙂

I am totally with you when you said "I'm not likely to try out a recipe without having seen a picture of it first and I will only buy a cookbook if there are pictures for most of the recipes."
I hate looking at cookbooks without pictures!

Cooking for people you care about makes all the difference. Nothing is more satisfying than to see a smile on their face from a meal you made. Just voted, and good luck with the contest!
